Apple's rumored iPad mini will reportedly start at $329 for the Wi-Fi only version, according to a 9to5Mac report.
Apple’s smaller iPad will also come in a version that connects to cellular networks. Like the third-generation iPad, these models will come at a $130 premium over their corresponding storage capacity in the WiFi-only line. This comes out to likely minimum price points of $459, $559, and $659 for the WiFi + Cellular line…
The iPad mini is expected to be announced by Apple on October 23rd and launch in stores on November 2nd.
Are these people nuts!? You might as well just buy a "regular" iPad for this price.
They should have launched with a price in the same range as the Nexus 7 / Amazon Kindle Fire HD, since they are obviously trying to compete with that market.
I mean, for Christ's sake, nearly all of their products are priced the same! I'm treating myself to a new iPod Touch instead for Christmas. Thank you Apple for dashing my dreams away as I had this on my list -_____-
Overpriced. It's almost the same price as the iPad 3. No way in hell that you'll find me buying this. I'll rather buy a Nexus 7.. Apple really needs to lower their prices because most blue collar hard working people are not as rich as Donald Trump. Today a 16 year old kid was stabbed in the neck 4 times and died over an iPad , I'm wondering if its worth buying any Apple products any more without someone trying to kill people for it... I don't see anyone murdering people over a Nexus, Samsung or Google product.... Just saying, is it really that worth my aggravation.?...
Dude, people are going to always kill other people for stupid crap......shoes, bikes, cars iPads. The price of Apple's products has nothing to do with why people kill each other. To suggest otherwise is asinine.
If you look at Apple's new product line up, you will see that they are pushing up the prices. The new itouch went up 100.00 dollars to 299.99 over the 4th gen model. And the new ipad is 499.00 compared to the ipad2 at 399.99 ( which i believe they will stop selling) So expect the mini iPad to be somewhere between the itouch and the iPad. So, 349.00 - 399.00 is possible! However, I was really hoping for 250.00 - 300.00 range which I feel would compete easier with all the other smaller tablets!
Apple didn't raise the price of the ipod, that's been it's starting price since the first one. Instead of releasing a new ipod last year they lowered it's price 100.
The only way to 'repair' these things is to take it to Apple, and if it was damaged by exposure to water--in any form--forget it, they won't honor it.
Not only do they use special instruments you can't buy on the open market to access the devices, but they generally don't sell the parts needed to repair it. You CAN find the parts to open it, but you can only guess on how reliable parts found on eBay are.
If some of us can't afford the iPad, how is it possible that the iPad Mini is gonna be affordable now? I think is going to be even more expensive! to be honest, i think that's outrageous. !
Ah damn 329 is too steep I feel. A 299 price tag would be competitive with the other tablets. As a consumer I would rather see a 249 , 16gb , wifi only because that is something that I know I and others would impulse buy because that price is teetering on that threshold.
Also with google possibly coming out with a 99 tablet and the kindle, I can buy those 2 for the price of 1 ipad mini.
I am an apple diehard but I was upset to see the starting price in the 300's
Everyone loves apple products but everyone can't afford apple products I think 249 would be a decent price for low income families n children for the upcoming holidays
Ack. I think $299 was an important bottom number for them. People need to see that "2" in the hundreds position, not the tens. I think a lot of people just look at that first big number, and they're going to see $300 and say no. Even if it is just $30 extra— that's WHY things are always priced $299 or $399 and not $300 and $400. It may literally be just one cent or one dollar less, but it's the psychological impact that registers. They haven't been doing the 99¢ deal all this time just to create hassle for everyone! Oh well. We'll see how it pans out; I have no vested interest in the outcome…
Apple never even considered pricing against the Kindle. Amazon has admitted they eat the cost on every Kindle they sell, so there's no sense for Apple to compete to sell something at a loss. The iPad mini is meant to fill a hole in their lineup that Android has been rushing to fill. But it's sometimes hard to reduce the price on a smaller item when it uses the same parts as it's more expensive brethern.
