Samsung to Attack iPhone 5 With At Least Eight Patents

Samsung has told a U.S. court that it plans to sue Apple over at least eight patents that it believes the iPhone 5 infringes on, reports FOSS Patents.

Here's the statement from Samsung.

"Samsung anticipates that it will file, in the near future, a motion to amend its infringement contentions to add the iPhone 5 as an accused product. On September 12, 2012, Apple announced that it will release the iPhone 5 on September 21, 2012. Based on information currently available, Samsung expects that the iPhone 5 will infringe the asserted Samsung patents-in-suit in the same way as the other accused iPhone models. Samsung plans to file a motion to amend its infringement contentions to address the iPhone 5 as soon as it has had a reasonable opportunity to analyze the device. Because Samsung believes the accused functionality of the iPhone 5 will be similar to the accused functionality of other accused Apple products, Samsung does not believe that amendment of its infringement contentions should affect the case schedule."

This second battle between Apple and Samsung is currently scheduled to go to trial in California in March 2014.

um apple have been using samsung to produce 80% of the iphones internal parts. what happens when samsung invent a new chip, apple steal the idea and have a cheaper manufacturer produce the samsung chip for them. i think samsung ripping off ideas from apple is the least of concerns.

if that is the case then Apple should not throw stones in the glass house they built. apple innovation and design died when steve jobs did. there is nothing else . they simply had thier time to shine and now trying to steal someone else thunder. apple has open the can of worms so now all companys are reviewing their patents carefully to see if anyone is infringing on them.

Apple has been sued so many times about several different issues. The thing is, is that Apple maintains a high level of professionalism. They learn from their mistakes and move on to grow stronger. They don't feel that it's necessary to spend millions of dollars on an ad to take such an obvious stab at their competitors. Apple has paid their dues and they are far above that childish behavior. Nobody needs to back Apple up and talk shit about Samsung. Apple has proven to be the healthiest company right now for a reason as for Samsung, they really shouldn't make it that easy for everyone to talk shit about them.

apple really have you in a vice with this iphone 5. the truth is everything the iphone 5 is coming with already exist on other phones, NFC, bluetooth 3.0, 4G LTE , wifi hotspot and wifi direct, dlna , and andriod with has alot more features than apple ios which offer very little to the end user and same vanilla look and feel all the time.
